Saturday, June 9, 2018 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

PRE-REQUISITE:
For Tai Chi certification, the Part 1 and Part 2 courses are required. If you are not interested in the certification, you may take any of the three courses.

This Part 3 course is the final course in this certification series. The Tai Chi for Rehabilitation Certification is organized into three one-day courses requiring completion of 24 credits hours.

This course will present the evidence-based research for Tai Chi and the foundational principles of Tai Chi exercise in the care and rehabilitation of neurologic disorders. The main focus of the course is the application of Tai Chi form movements and Qigong exercises in neurologic conditions, including multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer disease, and Parkinson disease.

This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapist, sport medicine, fitness and exercise instructors, and health professionals involve in the care and rehabilitation of neurologic disorders.

*****Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes to move in and dress in layers*****

NC Area Health Education Center is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers.

The North Carolina AHEC Program, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. An application for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) to potentially receive up to 8.0 hours total Category 1 continuing education contact hours.
