Physicians and advanced practice providers
This hands-on pre-course will introduce basic cardiac, lung, and abdominal point of care ultrasound (POCUS).
Learners will benefit from a low learner to faculty ratio – groups of no more than 4 participants will work with a faculty member, ultrasound, and simulated patient. Participants will learn how to adjust depth and gain on their ultrasound machines to acquire normal ultrasound images on simulated patient models. Through case presentations, they will also understand how these new skills can improve their diagnostic skills at the bedside and be able to recognize common pathologies. This pre-course will serve as an introduction - importantly, we will briefly discuss pathways for further learning and practice.
