Every day in communities across North Carolina, Breathe Easy NC is working to connect people who struggle with mental health and substance use to the best practice tobacco treatment they deserve. The Breathe Easy NC Professional Development Series will prepare professionals from diverse disciplines and settings to help those with behavioral health conditions to become tobacco-free. See the below topics/dates and links for registration.
Helping persons who attend day programs with tobacco cessation can be extremely challenging. The rate of tobacco use among individuals with behavioral health issues is much higher than the general population and contributes to early mortality and poorer health outcomes. Tobacco cessation can help this population have improved health and improved emotional wellbeing.
