Description

New medications released in the past year will be evaluated using a "formulary approach". This approach allows attendees to compare and contrast these agents to older medications to determine it the new medication has any of advantages that would make it a useful therapy option. The potential advantages include: a drug in a new pharmacologic class, a clinically relevant pharmacokinetic property, better efficacy or safety, or more cost effective. The audience will be able to vote on whether or not the agent should be on the North Carolina Medicaid Preferred Drug list.
