South Piedmont Area Health Education Nursing Education is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Pharmacists
Continuing Education Credit For Pharmacists:
The University Of North Carolina Eshelman School Of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The program ACPE# 0046-9999-25-060-L01-P (Pharmacist) provides 6.0 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit. To receive CE credit, you must complete the CE attendance form and the evaluation of the program. Statement of credit can be viewed and printed in CPE Monitor. Statements of CE Credit will be processed in approximately 2 to 3 weeks. **No partial credit will be available**

Dietitians
This activity will be submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

• Sturdivant: Analyze relevant literature to support the recent medication updates.
• Sturidvant: Recall key takeaways regarding diabetes treatment updates
• Mieszczak: Familiarize the audience with the history, components, current trends, and future of AID.
• Flynn & Heffelfiner: Review current standards for screening and diagnosing GDM and how to identify at-risk patients earlier for treatment, monitoring, and post-partum care
• Mobley-Bukstein: Recall current strategic priorities both Federally and in North Carolina related to Diabetes.
• Mobley-Bukstein: Identify resources for staying up-to-date on policy related to Diabetes care Federally and in North Carolina
• Mobley-Bukstein: Design a discussion guide for a current policy or bill in North Carolina.
• Hinkes: Perform a comprehensive diabetes foot exam that includes a vascular and neurological evaluation plus identification of bone, soft tissue, and nail deformities.
• Hinkes: Utilize the information from the exam as data to stratify individuals into internationally accepted risk groups and refer to members of the interdisciplinary team for risk mitigation.
• Hinkes: Identify when to re-screen individuals depending upon identified risks and risk category and apply the guidelines of the (IWGDF) to prevent diabetes foot ulcers and amputations.
• Hinkes: Describe how risk data may be used to nourish machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to provide predictive analytics leading to personalized medicine.
• Daunt: Discuss the overlap between diabetes and weight management.
