What are the principles of effective treatment for Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Conduct Disorder (CD)? We will examine evidence based practices used to target the symptoms of these mental health diagnoses and explore the role of parents and caretakers, school professionals, and mental health professionals in addressing challenges associated with ODD and CD.
We will also examine strategies used in two common practices used to treat ODD and CD: Parent Management Training Programs and Individual and Family Psychotherapy. Through experiential exercises, video clips, and discussion, you will learn practical treatment approaches and discover the importance of collaborating with children, families, and professionals to effectively address the disruptive behaviors and underlying struggles often associated with ODD and CD diagnoses. This training will equip you with several useful treatment strategies to enhance your practice with children, adolescents, and their families.
