Course Description:
The First Steps® ACP Facilitator Certification course is designed to help participants learn the skills needed to facilitate foundational ACP conversations with individuals who are healthy or have early chronic illness. This course builds on the communication and interview skills learned in the Core Component used for person-centered advance care planning (ACP) facilitation and is appropriate for all levels of knowledge.
Course Requirements/Pre-Requisites
(Instructions for completing the following pre-course requirements will be emailed to you upon registration for this course):
• Completion of Respecting Choice ACP Core Component Course (Registration Link is Below)
• Completion of the Core Curriculum Modules 1-4
• Talk with a loved one about ACP and review the NC Practical Form.
Respecting Choices Courses will be offered in the spring and the fall of 2026 and dates are TBD.
