This 2-part module introduces the learner to the dental profession by discussing the dental team and explaining their roles and responsibilities. The learners will also gain knowledge of basic tooth anatomy, proper oral hygiene practices and will learn the core aspects of why oral hygiene is important. In addition, there's an optional at home experiment to enjoy. By the end of the module, learners will have a clear understanding of the dental profession as well as, a roadmap that outlines the necessary steps needed to become a dental professional.
Both modules should take no more than 1 hour to complete.

• Explain who makes up the dental team
• Describe the roles and responsibilities of each team member
• Summarize the steps you can take if you want to pursue a career in the dental profession

By the end of this module, you should be able to:
• Outline why oral health is so important
• Identify basic tooth anatomy and tooth numbering
• Discuss how an unhealthy diet leads to tooth decay
• Explain how our teeth and diet are related to our systemic health
• Describe how to properly take care of your teeth
